A distinguished graduate of Ohio Northern University Petit College of Law, Class of 2002, Misty began her career working as a civil litigation clerk at Young & Alexander Co. L.P.A. in Dayton , Ohio (Y&A). After admission to the Ohio Bar, Misty began practicing law as an associate attorney at Y&A. Misty grew up in Defiance, a small community in Northwestern, Ohio, Misty was excited to experience practicing law with excellent, experienced attorneys from whom she learned and still attempts to emulate.
Misty is a member of the Dayton and Ohio Bar Associations and served as the Chair of the Young Lawyer's Committee in 2003.
Misty left her practice in 2007 to accept a position at LexisNexis Risk Solutions as a government research consultant, teaching on average 8-12 adult education courses weekly. Misty successfully trained more than 3,000 professionals annually from various agencies including taxing authorities, social services, and state and local police. From her, Misty's students learned how to generate the most benefit from using online resources available. Misty worked closely with many detectives, analysts, and dedicated caseworkers who understood, often first hand, the hardships people face as a result of poverty, addiction, abuse, and absent parents. Since leaving LexisNexis in 2015, Misty opened her solo practice in Beavercreek, Ohio, representing indigent children and families in Montgomery County and Greene County Juvenile Courts. Misty is committed to helping each child and family she represents identify the unmet needs giving rise to their legal issues, and identifying and offering realistic, appropriate solutions to lead them towards resolving their problems.
