Ohio trial lawyer with 35+ years of experience handling injury & death claims throughout Ohio. Cases have included simple to complex matters, insurance issues, bad faith claims, and all types of civil litigation and appeals in state and federal courts from Cleveland to Portsmouth, Bellefontaine to Marietta and Cincinnati to Athens.
In 2009 I started my own solo practice and have developed a unique niche in the two-wheeled world "Bicycling & The Law." I written extensively on "Bike Law" over the past 35 years while handling more than 400 bike cases ranging from small traffic matters to complex, 7-figure brain damage and death claims. I have taken a wide range of matters through trial and verdict in several counties throughout Ohio.
I helped "write the book" on bike law - "Bicycle Law & Practice" - As a co-author I contributed chapters to the book on insurance law and products liability. I am also a contributing author to "Bicycle Accident Reconstruction & Litigation" and have written articles for national, state and local publications.
I have developed my BIKE LAW 101 CLE class that I've given in Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton and Cincinnati. I have also provided CLE on "E-Scooters" as well as Personal Injury Litigation issues. I also speak on Bicycle History & Bike Legal issues to numerous groups ranging from local cycling clubs and groups to small bike shop events and large national conferences like the Oklahoma Bike Summit, Ohio Bike Summit and Ohio Traffic Engineering Conference.
In 2021 we are opening a new non-profit, The Bicycle Crash Research Center, Inc, or BCRC. BCRC will take over my Fatal Crash Project- which tracks EVERY fatal bicycle crash in Ohio in great detail. We'll be ordering the full reports, all public records, crash reconstruction documents & data, toxicology reports, forensic data, the autopsy report and all photos/video. We'll review every crash & write about them. We'll track any civil/criminal cases and discuss trends and data on a local, regional and national basis. We will bring data together for others to use including media, advocates & legislators.
