Attorney and crisis communications expert Mark Weaver will discuss strategies and best practices for navigating politically charged environments, difficult meetings and breaking news involving public bodies. The program will focus on how lawyers can serve as problem-solvers - helping clients communicate lawfully, thoughtfully and transparently - rather than defaulting to "no comment" or throwing up unnecessary barriers.
Attendees will learn practical approaches for guiding elected officials and staff through media interactions, crisis response and social media use, while maintaining compliance with open meetings law, public records requirements and other applicable statutes.
