Please join the Ohio State Bar Association Environmental Law Section and the Cincinnati Bar Association's Environmental Committee for a special afternoon at Fernald Preserve on Thursday, August 6, beginning at 3:00PM and ending at 6:00PM.
Fernald Preserve is one of the nation's most significant environmental remediation success stories. Once home to a uranium processing facility that supported the federal government's nuclear weapons program, the site underwent a multi-billion-dollar cleanup and ecological restoration effort and has been transformed into more than 1,000 acres of wetlands, forests, prairies, and wildlife habitat.
The event will include an opportunity to learn how unique legal issues were overcome, learn about the site's significant environmental cleanup and restoration challenges, tour the Preserve, and connect with fellow environmental professionals. Light hors d'oeuvres and non-alcoholic refreshments will be provided. Sessions will include 2.5 hours of CLE credit.
