Christopher Lake Brown is the Deputy Law Director for Mansfield, Ohio. He is primarily engaged in civil matters, but sometimes assists with the prosecution of crimes. As a municipal attorney, he sees a variety of state and local government law issues including § 1983 claims, labor and employment disputes, public records law, zoning and planning, and real estate issues including transfers of city-owned land and foreclosures. His favorite area of the law is the intersection of law and technology, including the impact of social media on crime, First Amendment issues, and ethics.
Chris enjoys the opportunities to advance the profession provided by bar associations, and is active in the ABA, OSBA, and his local bar association. He is currently ABA YLD District Representative for Ohio and West Virginia, Chair of the ABA YLD Government, Military and Public Sector Lawyers Committee, Co-Chair of the ABA Section of State and Local Government Law’s Young Lawyers Committee, a member of the OSBA Young Lawyers Section Council, and Vice-President of the Richland County Bar Association.
Chris earned his B.A. in English from the Ohio State University and his J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law. When he’s not practicing law or reading, he enjoys traveling and being outdoors running, hiking, and cycling.
